Kırım-Kongo Kanamalı Ateşi Nedir?

Kırım-Kongo Hemorajik Ateş (KKHA),keneler tarafından taşınan Nairovirüs isimli bir mikrobiyal etken  tarafından neden olunan ateş, cilt içi ve diğer alanlarda kanama gibi bulgular ile seyreden hayvan kaynaklı bir enfeksiyondur. Son yıllarda tedavide görülen gelişmelere rağmen, bu enfeksiyonlarda ölüm oranları hala yüksektir.

Keneler Nasıl Tanınır ve Nerelerde Bulunur?

Keneler otlaklar, çalılıklar ve kırsal alanlarda yaşayan küçük oval şekillidir.  6-8 bacaklı, uçamayan, sıçrayamayan hayvanlardır. Hayvan ve insanların kanlarını emerek beslenirler ve bu sayede hastalıkları insanlara bulaştırabilirler.

Ülkemiz kenelerin yaşamaları için coğrafi açıdan oldukça uygun bir yapıya sahiptir. Türlere göre değişmekle beraber kenelerin, küçük kemiricilerden, yaban hayvanlarından evcil memeli hayvanlara ve kuşlara (özellikle devekuşları) kadar geniş bir konakçı spektrumları mevcuttur.

Henüz ergin olmamış Hylomma soyuna ait keneler, küçük omurgalılardan kan emerken virüsleri alır, gelişme evrelerinde muhafaza eder; ergin kene olduğunda da hayvanlardan ve insanlardan kan emerken bulaştırır.

Kuluçka Süresi Ne Kadardır? 

Kene tarafından ısırılma ile virüsün alınmasını takiben kuluçka süresi genellikle 1-3 gündür; bu süre en fazla 9 gün olabilmektedir. Enfekte kan, ifrazat veya diğer dokulara doğrudan temas sonucu bulaşmalarda bu süre 5-6 gün, en fazla ise 13 gün olabilmektedir.

Kırım-Kongo Kanamalı Ateşinin Tanısı Nasıl Konulur?   

Kanda virüse karşı oluşan antikorların taranması tanı için en sık kullanılan yöntemdir. Bu göstergeler hastalığın başlangıcından sonra 6. günden itibaren belirlenebilir.

Kırım-Kongo Kanamalı Ateşi Nasıl Kontrol Edilir ve Nasıl Korunulur?

Hastalığın bulaşmasında keneler önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Bu nedenle kene mücadelesi önemlidir fakat oldukça da zordur.

1. İnsanlar kenelerden uzak tutulabilir ise bulaş önlenebilir. Bu nedenle de mümkün olduğu kadar kenelerin bulunduğu alanlardan kaçınmak gerekir.

2. Kenelerin yoğun olabileceği çalı, çırpı ve gür ot bulunan alanlardan uzak durulmalı, bu gibi alanlara çıplak ayak yada kısa giysiler ile gidilmemelidir.

3. Bu alanlara av yada görev gereği gidenlerin lastik çizme giymeleri, pantolonlarının paçalarını çorap içine almaları,

4. Görevi nedeni ile risk grubunda yer alan kişilerin hayvan ve hasta insanların kan ve vücut sıvılarından korunmak için mutlaka eldiven, önlük, gözlük, maske v.b. giymeleri gerekmektedir.

5. Gerek insanları gerekse hayvanları kenelerden korumak için haşere kovucu ilaçlar (repellent) olarak bilinen böcek kaçıranlar dikkatli bir şekilde kullanılabilir. (Bunlar sıvı, losyon, krem, katı yağ veya aerosol şeklinde hazırlanan maddeler olup, cilde sürülerek veya elbiselere emdirilerek uygulanabilmektedir.)

6. Haşere kovucular hayvanların baş veya bacaklarına da uygulanabilir; ayrıca bu maddelerin emdirildiği plâstik şeritler, hayvanların kulaklarına veya boynuzlarına takılabilir.

9. Diğer canlılara ve çevreye zarar vermeden, haşere ilacı (insektisit) ile uygulamanın uygun görüldüğü durumlarda  çevre ilaçlanması yapılabilinir.

Kırım-Kongo Kanamalı Ateşinin Tedavisi Nedir?   

Hastalığın kesin bir tedavisi bulunmamaktadır. Hastaya destek tedavisi yapılmalıdır.

The fifth hearing in the trial on the murder of German national Tilman Ekkehart Geske, Necati Aydin and Ugur Yuksel at the Zirve Publishing House in Malatya on 18 April 2007 lasted for about 12 hours. The hearing had begun at 9:30 in the morning.

During the hearing held on April 14, the joint attorneys demanded that the Interior Ministry is asked for a report on whether security officials had been involved in activities that constitute a disciplinary offense during the administrative investigation process. The judges rejected this demand saying that it bears no relation to “the trial and the defendants.”

The Malatya 3rd High Criminal Court also stated that it could take into consideration the attorneys’ demand to ask for the telephone records of the defendants for the period of one year before the incident “only if a detailed and justified request is made, since this could violate the privacy of people not involved in the trial.”

“It will be difficult to see the real picture”

Joint attorney Tahir Elci spoke to bianet about the trial:

“Only the murderers are known. We have not been able to get a hold of those, who planned and provoked the incident and their organization. This path has been blocked.  Maybe we will have more information after the questioning of Emre Gunaydin. But it will be very difficult for us to see the real picture behind the incident including all, who are responsible.”

The judges accepted Gunaydin’s lawyer’s request that the defendant’s bone age is determined. They decided to ask for Gunaydin’s birth record and other documents that could serve as evidence. Defendants Abuzer Yildirim, Cumali Ozdemir and Salih Gurler, who are all under arrest pending the outcome of the trial, accused Emre Gunaydin. They claimed that Gunaydin threatened them not to change their statements.

Denial amid blood stains on clothes 

The three defendants, who claim that the killings happened after the victims insulted them, stated that they did not stab anyone. The joint attorneys and the judges asked about the blood stains on the clothes of the defendants. The three defendants often left questions unanswered saying “I don’t remember.”

The statements that Gunaydin will make during the next hearing on 12 May will be of key importance after these statements. Gunaydin is under arrest pending the outcome of the trial.

SIM cards on tens of mobile phones

The joint attorneys and the judges asked why Yildirim used a mobile phone with 16 different phone lines. “I was selling second-hand telephones in my free time,” answered Yildirim. The same question was asked to Gurler, who had used his SIM card on 40 different mobile phones. Gurler stated that he had been using his friends’ mobile phones after selling his own mobile phone.

Ozdemir and Yildirim stated that they were not involved in the incident, where the victims’ hands were tied and where they were stabbed. The joint attorneys rejected these claims stating that there were blood stains on the knives and the clothes of the defendants.

The defendants Emre Gunaydin, Cumali Ozdemir, Salih Ceker, Abuzer Yildirim, Hamit Ceker are at the Malatya E-type prison pending the outcome of the trial. They are facing life sentence in solitary confinement and with no possibility of parole. Defendant Mehmet Gokce has been released pending the trial.

Background

The three employees of Malatya’s Zirve Publishing House were murdered on 18 April 2007. Their throats were slit. Defendants Gurler, Yildirim, Ozdemir and Ceker were captured at the crime scene.

Gunaydin was captured injured after he attempted to escape the crime scene by jumping out the window on the third floor. He was arrested after being treated for his injuries. (GG/EA/EÜ)

Anadolu Jet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines (THY), has plans to attract passengers who normally use land transportation by offering ticket prices that are as low as bus fares.

“Offering such alternatives to our citizens is a significant step. Anadolu Jet will contribute greatly to the development of aviation in Turkey,” said Transportation Minister Binali Yıldırım in an interview with Today’s Zaman. Stressing that increasing competition among airline companies develops air transportation in Turkey, Yıldırım noted that passengers should be offered several alternatives. “Our passengers are offered more alternatives in our day. Under free market conditions, you cannot force anyone to choose a single option. If you do not offer different alternatives to customers, it means you are forcing them to choose the only option available. Offering lower airfares to passengers also contributes to the development of free market conditions. It is great to see that our citizens will have a choice of cheaper airlines,” he said.Yıldırım maintained that Turkish transportation has seen great development in the last few years. “This stems from positive developments in economic indicators. We have witnessed significant developments in air transport in the last five years. Around 8.5 million Turks took domestic flights five years ago. This figure is currently 32 million. I believe Anadolu Jet will further contribute to this growth,” he added.

A parliamentary commission investigating the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink will hear the testimony of several gendarmerie officers, including Col. Ali Öz, who previously refused to cooperate with the investigation, and intelligence chief Capt. Metin Yıldız.

Parliamentary Human Rights Investigation Commission head Zafer Üskül said yesterday that the testimony of two gendarmes in Trabzon who admitted that they had previous knowledge of a plot to assassinate Dink months before the incident had led the commission to hear from the Trabzon gendarmerie officers. He said the commission informed the Gendarmerie General Command about the need to hear from the officers and that a court in Trabzon had decided to allow them to testify before the commission.

Testifying on March 20 of this year, the two gendarmes said they had informed their superior officer, Col. Öz, the Trabzon provincial gendarmerie commander, but that they had given false statements during the course of the investigation under pressure from Öz.

The investigations into the slaying of Dink and the brutal murders of three Christians in Malatya have grown even more complicated, as more errors on the part of security officials have been discovered in the Dink case, and the judges in the Malatya case have overruled almost every request from the victims’ attorneys.

Interior Ministry inspectors have revealed that the İstanbul Police Department received a warning that Dink would be murdered but took no action, and the department prepared a fake report to cover up their inaction after the murder, the Taraf daily reported yesterday.

Chief Inspector Şükrü Yıldız has discovered that the İstanbul Police Department had received information from the police in Trabzon, the hometown of the prime suspect, Yasin Hayal, warning, “Hayal will kill Dink after he moves to İstanbul to live with his brother Osman Hayal, who works at a bakery in Sarıgazi”; however, there was no investigation of the Hayal brothers until after Dink was murdered on Jan. 19 of last year.

İstanbul Police Commissioner Volkan Altınbulak had previously said he conducted an investigation into the Hayals immediately after he received the information from the Trabzon Police Department, on Feb. 17, 2006. But Yıldız has revealed that officers Bahadır Tekin and Özcan Özkan had done an address search for Osman Hayal only after the murder, although they dated the report as having been prepared on Feb. 24, 2006. İstanbul Governor Muammer Güler asked the inspectors at the end of March to obtain permission from the prosecutor’s office to start an inquiry into the police officers involved in the misconduct.

Dink was shot by a neo-nationalist teenager on Jan. 19, 2007 outside the Agos weekly building — where Dink was the editor-in-chief — in İstanbul’s Beyoğlu district. The subsequent investigation revealed that some of the suspects who were later found to have been the masterminds of the murder had links to police officers.

Malatya massacre case going nowhere?

Attorneys in the Malatya murder case have been disappointed by the court’s refusal to comply with their requests. Lawyers asked what type of precautions had been taken by security officials after they received information about a possible assault on the Zirve Publishing House which printed Bibles and Christian literature in eastern Malatya prior to the brutal murders of Christian Turks Aydın and Yüksel and Christian German national Ekkehart Geske. The victims, who worked for the publishing house, were tied to their chairs and stabbed and tortured before their throats were slit on April 18, 2007.

However, the judge decided the query was unrelated to the case in which the suspects are being tried, saying the security issue is a different matter and that misconduct on the part of security officials should be investigated separately.

The lawyers also asked that the autopsy photographs be given to the attorneys for the plaintiffs. But the judge rejected this request on the grounds that the relevant evidence was the autopsy report, not the autopsy photographs.

Another request by the lawyers was for the mobile phone records of the suspects. The judge said this would be an infringement of the privacy of the persons involved.

Hakkari, the least popular place to buy property

  Hakkari, in eastern Turkey, witnessed the least property sales again. Both the number of properties sold and the total cost of sales dropped from 549 to 431, and from YTL 10.39 million ($8 million) to YTL 4.85 million ($3.7 million) respectively. Moreover, cities like Denizli, Eskisehir, Kayseri, Konya, Balikesir, Erzurum, Diyarbakır, Malatya, Muğla, Sinop, Rize, Giresun, Tekirdağ, Yozgat and Karaman also experienced a decrease in the rate of property sales.
